Beth Smith

Beth has signficant experience in commercial disputes and employment law, with a background working in litigation roles in New Zealand and Ireland. Beth advises on a range of commercial disputes and assists on matters involving investigations by regulatory agencies and related proceedings.

She advises on a full range of employment matters for employers and employees. This includes restructures, performance, disciplinary processes and investigations, personal grievances. She has represented clients before the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court. Her approach emphasises pragmatic, commercially viable solutions tailored to each client's need.

With a unique background in sport, Beth also provides legal advice to sports organisations and athletes, leveraging her firsthand experience as a two-time Olympian and Commonwealth Games athlete, together with her experience on various governance and quasi-governance roles in regional sport and with the International Hockey Federation.
